In april 2023 Stelkom was a part of an enlightening conference that addressed the current challenges in global safety and security, with a specific focus on responding to violence and mass casualty events.

The ERAC (Emergency Response & Awareness Conference), a regional pilot project initiated by the IPO, aims to become an annual event where experts from security services, civil professionals, and the public can exchange experiences and learn how to effectively deal with such cases. By promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing, ERAC strives to create a safer society.

The event aimed to provide valuable insights through case analysis and best practices.

This year’s topic, “A Response to Violence, Marauding Terrorism, and Mass Casualty Incidents,” shed light on the unfortunate increase in such attacks in modern society. From incidents stemming from school or workplace bullying to acts of terrorism, the conference examined the underlying reasons behind these events.
We had the opportunity to delve into case analysis studies presented by both private and governmental first responders. Additionally, subject matter experts (SMEs) from diverse backgrounds, including police and gendarmerie, special forces, emergency response services, counter-terrorism, private security, artificial intelligence, academics, CCTV video analytics, and emergency mass notification and communication experts, shared their best practice solutions and responses to tackle these threats.

At the event Stelkom contributed with:
• partner Georgi Krastev, MEng, M.Econ from Milestone Systems, who presented several solutions regarding safety and security related to VMS and video analytics.
• partner Florian Leibovici from BriefCam presented several solutions regarding safety and security related to video analytics and forensics.
• Stelkom’s sales and marketing manager Janez Zabukovec presented on how you can utilize your surveillance / CCTV with video analytics and forensics for safer tomorrow.

The conference, which was also very well media covered, proved to be a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and insights, enabling us to better understand and navigate the complexities of violence and mass casualty incidents. We’re grateful to have been a part of this event and look forward to implementing the learnings in our professional endeavors.
